Pirate dress up day and parade 22.9.17

Today is pirate dress up day in the Junior Syndicate. 

We had a parade to show off our costumes and the Belfast Kindy came too. 

It has been been fun talking like pirates and doing pirate activities.

Fire Truck Visit

As part of our Inquiry topic 'In the Hood' the Fire Service came to visit. They are important members of our community. 

We loved going in the Fire Truck.

Waiata Challenge

As part of Maori Language Week all of the classes had to do a Waiata challenge on Wednesday versing another class. 

Room 4 sang 'Oma Rapiti' and versed Room 1, then Room 5. Being one of the winning classes they were asked to perform their waiata in the Whole School Assembly.

They did very well getting up in front of such a large group to sing their waiata.

Poetry Competition

On Thursday, in week 8, the Junior's and New Entrants had their Poetry finals. 

Leo and Georgia represented Room 4 and they did a wonderful job!

Book Week Window Display

Room 4 are very excited! We won the window display!! Come and have a look!

More from Book Week

On Thursday we finished working on our book week display. We painted Hot Air Balloons from "Oh, the places you'll go!" First we had to paper mache a balloon. Then we could paint them.

Miss McCoy hung them up in the stairwell. 

On Thursday evening a couple children from Room 4 went to the Bedtime Stories in the hall. A couple of the Librarians from the Redwood Library came to read to us. Mr Ayers and Mrs Elley also read to us. There was hot Milo with marshmallows too.

Book Week- Term 3, Week 3

Book Week!

Week 3 has been all about books. 

We have been able to hear a lot of books being read to us by lots of different people. 

We have heard a lot of books written by Dr Seuss. He has a lot of funny rhymes.

We have been able to do book art for a window display and dress up as a book character.

It has been a fun week!
